The SESAM™/SQL-DCN distribution component supports the administration and processing of SESAM™/SQL databases in computer networks. The underlying computer network can be built using BS2000/OSD business servers and BS2000/OSD communication products (hardware and software). BS2000/OSD is required as the operating system.
Highlights include:
- SESAM/SQL-DCN makes SESAM databases even more adaptable to corporate structures.
- Availability is increased thanks to hardware and software distribution.
- SESAM interactive dialog and batch programs can run unchanged in a SESAM/SQL-DCN environment, so only minimal conversion overhead is involved in migrating to a SESAM/SQL-DCN solution.
- If a computer is pushing the limits of its upgradeability, a solution can be found by adding another computer and distributing the databases.
- SESAM/SQL-DCN supports the 2-phase-commit protocol and hence distributed transaction processing even when data is changed at different computer nodes. Deadlock and longlock handling are performed here across computers using proven lock graph analysis.
