| | NetWorker Database modules |
Enterprise backup/restore for databases and applications
|
NetWorker modules are the interfaces between NetWorker and database servers or applications. The interface module communicates with the database and if necessary with the application and the database in order to achieve a consistent online backup and to obtain a point in time recovery.
If the storage system for the database provides functionality for copying or for snapshots, then this functionality can be integrated into the backup/restore process. Server-less backup or at least backup with only little impact on the database server or on the application server is the benefit of using these innovative storage devices (EMC Symmetrix, FibreCAT and NAS storage devices from Network Appliance). SAP-certified interface modules are available for SAP R/3 backup. |
