EMC NetWorker Module for SAP R/3 on Oracle ensures availability of mission-critical enterprise resource planning (ERP) data by delivering fast, online backup and recovery for SAP R/3. UNIX commands like “tar” and “cpio” or “NT Backup” for Windows cannot deliver this level of performance.

With SAP R/3, Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers a certified interface to SAP R/3. SAP administrators can centrally manage backup operations and schedules. This module also offers automated, "lights-out" data protection with extensive autochanger, tape device, and media-handling capabilities. In conjunction with NetWorker, it provides an excellent basis for implementing a stable and global backup strategy for SAP R/3 environments. All activities for this backup and restore solution for R/3 with an Oracle database are administered by the SAP R/3 system. This means that NetWorker only backs up and restores when requested to by R/3. Operations are carried out with the Networker commands save and recover. SAP R/3 supports Solaris, Linux and Reliant UNIX, as well as HP-UX, AIX, Tru64, and IRIX. The module also supports Windows. Features include:
