Advanced Server/UNIX (AS/X) from Fujitsu Siemens Computers provides the functionality of the Microsoft Windows NT Server under UNIX.
AS/X allows UNIX systems to be used as servers for Microsoft Windows® and Microsoft DOS personal computers. In addition, AS/X provides easy access for all PC users to shared data and printers throughout the enterprise. AS/X can be used and managed as an independent server or together with other servers (Microsoft Windows NT Server, PC NETLINK, LMU, ...) and domains. Consequently, the administrator does not need to modify each server individually when a configuration changes. AS/X is fully compatible with SUN's PC NETLINK.
AS/X is a compatible extension of LAN Manager/UNIX (LM/X) and is based on the ported version of the Microsoft Windows NT Server, AT&T's Advanced Server for UNIX (ASU). |
