Download the software necessary for the management stations |
SNMP is a standardized protocol for transfer of management-commands and -information. A SNMP agent therefore does not require any special type of a management platform. It can be attached to each SNMP-capable platform. That also applies to the SNMP agents of the BS2000/OSD and the HNC. Thus BS2000/OSD systems can be integrated into the extensive facilities of the information and alarm management of modern management stations.
(Here you can free of charge download the software necessary for it. If you want to integrate BS2000/OSD management into your managemant plattform in your own way, all mibs supported by the BS2000/OSD agent are at your disposal.)
For integration into the management platform Unicenter you can use the software package SMBS2 (on Solaris SMBS2-SO resp. on Windows SMBS2-WIN). It provides additional configuration files needed for these platform. SMBS2 automatically performs all necessary configuration changes in the management platform when it is installed.
Additionally five applications which have been tailored to communication with special subagents are available:
- CMBS2 for the Console Monitor subagent
- PMBS2 for the Performance Monitor subagent
- BMBS2 for the MIB-II subagent and the BCAM subagent
- CluMon for the HIPLEX subagent (Cluster Monitor)
- MibMon a generic SNMP management application
These applications are supplied with the appropriate TCL/TK interpreter tclset (in BS2-SNMP-WIN, BS2-SNMP-SO resp. BS2-SNMP-LX). They can be integrated into the user interfaces of management platforms but can also be executed as "stand-alone" applications.
There are different versions of CMBS2, PMBS2, BMBS2, CluMon and MibMon executable on Windows (see BS2-SNMP-WIN), on Solaris (see BS2-SNMP-SO) and on Linux (see BS2-SNMP-LX).
The applications for the Console and Application Monitor (CMBS2), the Performance Monitor (PMBS2), the BCAM Monitor (BMBS2), the Cluster Monitor (CluMon) and the Mib and Trap Monitor (MibMon) can only used if the product, that contains the corresponding subagent, was licensed.
If these applications should be integrated into a management-station, so the trap-server trpsrv is prepared in the packages for Solaris and Linux. The trap-server duplicates and distributes the Traps to the management-station and the applications.
You can use the software package DMHNC (in HNC-SNMP-NT) for integration of HNC management into Unicenter.
