Windows NT 4.0 Phoenix Suite

Windows NT does not support Hot plugging drives, Docking Systems, Plug n Play PC Cardbus and Power Management. For this reason the Pheonix power suite is provided with NT systems.

Windows NT 4.0. Phoenix Suite consists of three software products

• NoteDock
  • Supports Hot-Plugging drives and Docking Systems
• CardExecutive
  • Supports the usage of the PC-Cardbus Controller
• PowerPanel
  • Supports the Powermanagement functionality

Before installation verify that the following settings in the BIOS are set

• Infrared Port: disabled
  • NT does not support INFRARED functionality
• Powermanagement: disabled
  • This will be provided by PowerPanel

The system must be installed in the following Order

1. NoteDock
2. CardExecutive
3. PC-Cards, Network
4. NT Service Pack
5. PowerPanel

After the installation Phoenix PowerPanel NT Service Pack must not be installed again. PowerPanel modifies the HAL.DLL of the installed NT System. The Service Pack would again modify the HAL.DLL and make it therefore unusable for the Phoenix Suite.
