HQ Sales Operations – Global Account
I have currently been working within HQ sales operations.

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Sales Operational Team and the country sales organisations across Europe with regular data gathering and reporting.

The biggest customers who purchase from us globally are defined as “Global Account”. My responsibility is to collect related sales data from all over the world in order to create monthly consolidated reports which will be published on the Central Report Site on the FSC Intranet. I am also required to ensure related data quality processes are applied and data quality is maintained within range. In case any discrepancy is detected, I need to solve it by communicating with various people from cross-functional backgrounds.

Furthermore, I create a wide range of reports by using the FSC business reporting system called EBIS2 which enables us to extract requested data from the two main databases, Siebel and SAP. Sales teams’ business decision making is based on those reports so it requires a strong sense of responsibility.

This real-life office working environment at FSC provides me with an insight into how world-wide businesses really work. Through this job I have gained a lot of chances to improve my ability to communicate effectively in a multinational environment. I really enjoy working with the multinational colleagues who inspire me with different ways of thinking. I believe that this invaluable experience would be a fertiliser not only for my future career but also for my life.

HQ Sales Operations
For the past six months, I have been working in Sales Operations HQ.

My responsibilities include ensuring the quality of data sent via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) by the channel partners, and ensuring that the mapping of revenue between the company’s Seibel Database and the Reseller Database is within the acceptable range.

The main tasks are analysing this data received from the distributors [currently 72] on a monthly basis and creating management reports based on the analysis which are published to the company’s intranet.

Additionally I manage user access to the company’s Central Reporting Site, and maintain bi-monthly checks on revenue reported by distributors to ensure accuracy.

I work as a part of a dynamic team here in the UK as well as in Germany, and also work closely with the B2B department here in UK.

Customer and Partner Data – Sales Operations
I have currently been working within HQ sales operations for the last 6 months.

FSC has a marketing system called Siebel. Siebel is an online database where account and contact data is inputted. My responsibility is to ensure data quality within Siebel across the world. I create a monthly KPI file which accesses the countries on their current status and progress. This forms the basis of the monthly data quality reviews which I participate in and sometimes conduct. I then complete the tasks from these meeting, producing numerous reports which highlight data quality errors which I want to be corrected.

In addition to this I create requested reports for top level management which aid there business decision making. Many ad hoc strategies and reports are implemented by me to ensure data quality improvement.

I have developed and learned more than I ever thought I would. The level of responsibility and the great minds of the people I work with has aided this. I would advise any student to undertake this role they will gain experiences that will impress any future employer and will develop a confidence to do any business related task. This job is not easy but anyone who wants a challenge with reap the benefits.
