Visual testing

• Review of the casing/enclosure regarding risk of fire and mechanical hazards.
  
• Examination of clearance and creepage distances (including disassembly of the power supply, check of the tracing and the position of components in primary and secondary position).
  
• Protective earth connection.
  
• Markings.
  

Electrical / climatic testing

• Protective earth.
  
• Electric strength.
  
• Leakage current.
  
• Abnormal operating and fault conditions.
  

Mechanical testing

• Enclosure openings (access to hazardous voltages).
  
• Mechanical strength and stress relief (using the steel ball, steady force and tilt tests).
  
  

Preparing test reports

• Check available certificates and test reports.
  
• Prepare test report for CE marking or international use (CB test report).
