SPARC Enterprise, PRIMEPOWER and PRIMEQUEST - powerful platforms for SAP Business Suite® customers |
SPARC Enterprise M8000 – Best in Class for Systems up to 16 Processors On April 17, 2007 the SPARC Enterprise M8000 (16 processors, 32 cores, 64 threads) with SPARC64 VI 2.4 GHz processor running SAP ERP 2005, Oracle® Database 10g and Solaris 10 set a new world-record for the SAP SD 2-tier standard application benchmark for systems up to 16 processors as of 04/17/07, achieving 7,300 SD benchmark users (details below).
PRIMEQUEST 580 – No. 1 in SAP SD 2-tier on Linux and on Windows On August 31, 2006 Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Fujitsu have proven the excellent performance of the Intel® Itanium® 2 based PRIMEQUEST 500 series. The 32-way PRIMEQUEST 580 (64 cores / 128 threads) achieved 12,500 SD benchmark users running SAP ERP 2004, Oracle 10g and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and 8,900 SD benchmark users running SAP ERP 2004, SQL Server 2005 and Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition (details below). With these results PRIMEQUEST holds the SAP SD 2-tier world record of all Linux and all Windows results (as of 09/22/2006).
PRIMEPOWER 850 – No. 1 in SAP BW 2-tier In March 2006, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Fujitsu strengthen their leadership in the continued delivery of record-setting benchmarks with a world record result on the two-tier SAP® Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) Standard Application Benchmark (details below). This result underscores the superior query processing power of Oracle® Database 10g and Sparc64 V running the mission-critical SAP BW solution, a component of the SAP NetWeaver® Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) solution. Running the SAP BW 3.5 workload, Oracle Database 10g achieved the leading world record performance result of 377,280 QS/h (query navigation steps per hour) on a Fujitsu PRIMEPOWER 850 server with 16 SPARC64 V processors running the Sun Solaris 10 operating system. The scenario included 32 GB main memory, which corresponds to 467,200,000 records in the fact table.
PRIMEPOWER 2500 - No. 1 in SAP SD 2-tier In March 2005, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Fujitsu have once again confirmed its position as a leading vendor of business critical computing solutions by setting a new world record for the SAP SD two-tier Standard Application Benchmark. The 128-processor-based PRIMEPOWER 2500 server with 2.08 GHz SPARC64 V CPUs achieved a performance score of 21,000 SAP SD benchmark users with SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70 on March 24, 2005 (for details see below). This puts PRIMEPOWER back in the No. 1 spot as the most powerful platform for running Oracle databases and SAP applications, a position perviously held from April 2003 to October 2004. PRIMEPOWER 1500 - Best 32-way Unix Server In August 2004, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Fujitsu have proven the excellent performance of a 32-way PRIMEPOWER 1500 with the 1.89 GHz SPARC64 V CPUs in a SAP SD two-tier R/3 Enterprise 4.70 benchmark. The benchmark was certified with 5,200 SD users which is the best result in the class of 32-way Unix servers (details below).
PRIMEPOWER - Excellent performance and superior scaling In April 2003, Fujitsu Siemens Computers broke through the 10,000 user barrier for the first time and achieved an until then unprecedented score of 13,000 SAP SD benchmark users in the SAP SD two-tier standard application benchmark with the 128-processor PRIMEPOWER 2500 server model and Oracle9i™ Database Release 2. In addition, demonstrating PRIMEPOWER's excellent scalability as processors are added, Fujitsu Siemens Computers achieved a score of 7,550 SAP SD benchmark users running Oracle9i Database Release 2 with a 64-processor PRIMEPOWER 2500 server model (details below). |
