The FibreCAT NX40 S4 is a file and print server for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) with the operating system Windows Storage Server 2003 R2. The system is based on the successful PRIMERGY servers and is a rack housing model that comprises just two height units (2HE).

The system can be equipped with SATA II and high-performance SAS hard disks and in its full configuration offers an internal storage capacity of 4.5 TB.

External storage systems can be added on via external interfaces (FibreChannel or SAS) to increase the storage capacity of the system, thus allowing the system to function as a SAN/NAS gateway for the FibreCAT SX family. Setting up the FibreCAT NX40 S4 takes just a matter of minutes, as it is delivered pre-tested, pre-installed and pre-configured and can be easily integrated into the existing network. The FibreCAT NX40 S4 is also optionally available with iSCSI target functionality.
