whether they need standard or custom-made systems. Fujitsu Siemens Computers was presented with first prize in the high-tech & electronics category, also finishing second overall among the 250 entrants.
Acknowledging efficiency
Judges for the awards, organized by UK-based Logistics Europe magazine together with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (now Capgemini), praised the excellent scorecard system employed at our company. Using key performance indicators covering every area of the supply chain, it is designed to continuously improve performance both internally and throughout the logistics network. The judging panel noted concrete achievements like major reductions in lead times from 10.5 to six days and material days of supply from 17.1 in 2000 to only nine in 2004. They also applauded continuing manufacturing cost savings and major strides made cutting losses and damage during transit. |
