In line with our overall corporate vision Fujitsu Siemens Computers' approach to society and the environment is guided by the company's brand promise 'we make sure', a commitment fulfilled by the unique sense of responsibility that characterizes the business. This is a commitment to customers that every business decision we take, and every product we make, is carried out in the most socially and environmentally conscious way possible.
On a strategic level this means placing society and the environment at the heart of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers' business. It means harnessing the sense of responsibility that already flows throughout the company and enabling this to flourish across all areas of our operations. Empowering our employees to live their sense of responsibility is the bedrock of this enabling process and strategy.
We continuously pursue this strategy in a number of ways across the business with a particular focus on our main impact areas. Here, Fujitsu Siemens Computers adopts a product lifecycle approach which considers all the social and environmental impacts of our products at the various stages of their development. From design, to raw material to end of life disposal, we seek to account for and manage impacts across the entire life cycle of an individual product.
For Fujitsu Siemens Computers our strategic focus and approach is underpinned by the view that social and environmental responsibility is very much compatible with improved business performance. As awareness grows, so too will demand for environmentally and socially responsible products. In fact the success of our Green PC range was built upon the foresight that the business community would increasingly demand environmentally conscious IT products. Green PCs now make up some 72% of all professional business PCs sold.
Integrating social and environmental responsibility across the Fujitsu Siemens Computers business and empowering our employees' sense of responsibility therefore brings real tangible benefit. It differentiates us within the market, reinforces our brand, and provides new avenues for us to engage consumers and stakeholders as we strive for success. It is our objective to continue this process of integration. As we do we will seek to improve our corporate response across all areas of the business from supply-chain through to recycling, setting associated targets for improvement. We also pledge to continue consulting, opening up dialogue, and building partnerships, with all those stakeholders who have an interest in the Fujitsu Siemens Computers business.
