Innovations in virtualization and automation are at the core of our service-oriented IT infrastructure platform, the Dynamic Data Center, enabling dynamic allocation of resources, greater levels of efficiency and simplified infrastructure management.
FlexFrame™ for Oracle removes the permanent assignment of Oracle services to specific servers, enabling businesses to increase efficiency, enhance agility and improve continuity. We have also developed a similar solution – FlexFrame™ for SAP – designed to reduce the costs of IT infrastructures for SAP applications by up to 60%.
Dynamic IT for Microsoft™ is the first highly dynamic virtualization solution for both standard Microsoft applications, such as SQL server, Exchange and SharePoint, and for solutions that run on Microsoft operating systems, such as SAP.
On the server side, we are continually looking at ways to improve the performance of our core strategic PRIMERGY product line. As soon as Intel released its latest Quad-Core server processors we announced the availability of many of our tower, rack and blade servers on that platform.
AMD processors are also available across our PRIMERGY rack and blade server range, and we are the only vendor worldwide to use the AMD HyperTransport technology to connect 2, 4, or 8-way plug-in blades.
A new software add-on to PRIMERGY BladeFrame, our virtualized server pool, brings new levels of agility and simplicity to the data center. Virtualized Blades (vBlades) in combination with Process Area Network (PAN) Manager software herald an entirely new way to manage both physical servers and virtual machines.
For extremely cost-efficient backup and storage management, we have developed the CentricStor virtual tape appliance, as well as integrated high-speed backup and restore systems using Network Attached Storage for ORACLE, SAP and Microsoft environments.
We were also the first company to introduce the Fibre Channel Open Interface Standard for mainframes.
