WWF

Fujitsu Siemens Computers began its strategic relationship with WWF-Germany in 2005. WWF-Germany were looking to replace a considerable number of office PC's although any new purchases would be subject to strict WWF product environmental purchasing criteria. Criteria included meeting 'Blue Angel' standards on product energy efficiency, the existence of lead-free mainboards, and company-own take-back and recycling centres.

Our range of Green PCs were the only product available on the market to reach WWF's high environmental standards and we subsequently supplied WWF with 120 ESPRIMO professional PCs and TFT displays for their 13 offices across Germany. Following this agreement, and in a bid to expand our relationship with WWF as part of our environmental commitments, we announced a longer-term communications based partnership. This strategic partnership has focused on raising public and consumer awareness of the environmental impacts of computer and IT products. It has also included heightening consumer awareness of the increased need and market availability of PC products produced in a more sustainable way.

At Fujitsu Siemens Computers, we believe public education is one of our key responsibilities as a leading European producer of environmentally friendly computer equipment. It benefits us too, as we continue to grow the market for environmentally friendly produced products. We pledge to continue driving and escalating this process through continued stakeholder dialogue, partnership, and the roll-out of further environmental initiatives.
